Leipzig und die Fotografie

THE ART COLLECTION OF
SPARKASSE LEIPZIG

With its commitment to promote and document the great potential of graphic art in the region of Leipzig, Sparkasse Leipzig has been building up an art collection since 1993, which is particularly dedicated to the graphic arts of the region. The works of the collection (paintings, graphics, photographies and sculptures), which meanwhile comprises almost 2500 exhibits, dating from approximately 1946 until recently, provide an interesting insight in and overview of the generation of artists in particular of the LEIPZIG SCHOOL. On the occasion of the 175th anniversary of its existence, Sparkasse Leipzig opened its Art Exhibition Hall, and in February 2001 offered the "Blick in die Sammlung/1" (glance at the collection). In addition to the "Glances at the Collection", regular special exhibitions and events are held in these halls.

Art in the branch offices

Within a relatively short period of time, the branch offices of the Sparkasse Leipzig had to be refurbished and extended, in order to meet the challenges by other banks which had settled in the City of Leipzig. In doing so, we took the unique chance to design the rooms of our branch offices in Leipzig jointly with artists from Leipzig and their works in both an individual and distinctive way. The multifaceted Leipzig Art offer creates a pleasant climate in our branch offices both for our work with the clients and first and foremost for our clients.
